Happy New Year. New Year Resolutions? Any that you have stuck to anyway?! Mine is to only wear and, consequently, buy things that I love. Investment pieces being key to this mantra. I don't know about you, but when anyone mentions investment pieces it always conjures up images of wardrobe basics in classic colours that slip under the radar and can be worn year after year. It also implies a high price that you justify through price per wear. In short, expensive but boring.
How wrong can I be! Investment doesn't need to be limited to wardrobe staples it can also mean bright, standout pieces that fit you perfectly and make you smile. Investing in something you love means you will get just as much, if not, more wear out of it plus a tingle of excitement when someone compliments you on your 'statement' jumper. The one you bought, perhaps on a whim, because it wooed you on first sight / you loved it so much. Yes, you questioned the price but you convinced yourself you wouldn't buy anything else for a while (ahem!) and in cost per wear terms it was a no brainer as you would wear it ALL the time...
