I like to see Spring as the time I can dust off my white and pastel jeans to freshen up an outfit. Rightly or wrongly, I feel smarter in white jeans (certainly at the beginning of the day) than in blue denim making them perfect for an Easter lunch. Possibly not so good for scrabbling around in the flower beds for eggs; but, then again, there is always a small army of children who would be happy to help me with this as long as they get to claim the booty!
Easter equals Spring. Right? Wrong. Certainly in the UK where we seem to be trapped in Narnia’s eternal winter!
The promise of sunshine, cherry blossom, and LOTS of chocolate (made all the sweeter after a Lenten abstinence) make Easter something that we all look forward to as we emerge, ahem, from the winter months.
Sunshine, chocolate, overindulgence and fun. A winning combination. Add some family and friends into the mix and what do you have? Easter.
I wanted to share some outfit ideas for your Easter weekend. The key being versatility. Whether dressing up for Easter Sunday negotiating both lunch and an epic Easter egg hunt or dressing down after the over indulgence; we have it covered.
Pastels or brights seem to be the name of the game when it comes to Easter dressing. So basically, anything goes. Here are a few suggestions; be you passionate about pastels or a bright bunny (excuse the pun).
Perfect Pastels
Pair our pastel cashmere jumpers with a pretty pleated skirt. Two or more pastels can be worn seamlessly together but to offset the cutesy colours, mix textures or opt for some neutral, white or black touches. Team with ice cream plains for minimalist chic or toughen up with some subtle (if it ever can be!) animal print.
Is there anything more comfortable than cashmere and jeans? It certainly takes some beating in my book. Wear our jumpers with your favourite jeans for laid back style. The jean options out there are limitless. There seems to be a ‘new’ style every five minutes. Is it just me or does anyone else feel they may have seen the ‘the only jeans to be wearing’ straight leg or the ‘hot new’ crop bootcut jean before?! So my tip to you is to pick the ones you like best and simply add a jumper.
Beautiful Brights
As well as the soft pastels and ice cream shades of Spring let’s not forget the riot of colour in our flowerbeds: bright yellow daffs, shocking pink tulips and, hopefully, handfuls of bright shiny foil covered eggs!
So let’s take a lesson from nature and embrace the brights. Our cashmere Eva sleeveless jumpers are brilliant for this time of year as they look fab layered over a fun printed silk shirt or a plain tee depending on your taste or mood. Or why not try it over a dress; an all-in-one style solution. Less to think about!
The same can be said for our Floras which offer the same versatility and ease of layering but in a flattering swing poncho style.
Let your Spring persona shine through in gelato pastels or in clashing brights. Basically, anything goes this Easter as long as it is accompanied by a LOT of chocolate!
Happy Easter from all the team at Cove.
